Donors turn out online to support annual ‘I Love WCU’ month

Western Carolina University’s “I Love WCU” campaign for 2021 wrapped up Feb. 28 with more than $500,000 in gifts to the WCU Foundation to support scholarships, endowments and other funds across campus for students and faculty.   

Catamounts Care Ambassadors part of team recognized as force for beating the pandemic

The Catamounts Care Ambassadors have been recognized for innovation in programing to stop the spread of COVID-19 within the region and on respective campuses including WCU.   

Nursing Students Assist with COVID-19 Shots

There were nursing students giving shots, church members helping people find their place in line, fraternity brothers directing traffic and other volunteers filling in where needed. Sometimes it takes a village to protect a village, and that certainly was the case when a group of Western Carolina University nursing school students decided to make their senior service learning project a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for Buncombe County’s African American community.
