Fifteen student-athletes, one head coach, three assistant coaches, one director of operations, one video coordinator, one strength and conditioning coach, one athletic trainer and eight student managers, is what creates Western Carolina University’s men’s basketball team. Nothing is impossible when this team comes together to battle against other NCAA teams.

WCU skiers to compete at national collegiate ski and snowboard championships

Western Carolina University tied for 10th place in the men’s team alpine combined (giant slalom and slalom) at the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association’s Mid-Atlantic Regional competition, Feb. 28-29, at Blue Mountain Resort in Palmerton, Pennsylvania.

Oregon State's Alex Gary, former Catamount, named WCU athletics director

Alex Gary, a former student-athlete on the Western Carolina University baseball team who is currently serving as senior associate athletics director for development at Oregon State University, is the next director of the Catamount athletics program.

Madison the chat bot makes its WCU debut

You may have stumbled across her name at the bottom right hand corner of the myWCU page, inviting you for a chat if you’re in need of support from the Division of Information Technology. Don’t be afraid. Engage in a chat. Madison, as she is called, is Western Carolina University’s new chat bot, which was launched Tuesday, Feb. 25, as a beta test by the IT Help Desk
