WCU’s new Student Government Association president CJ Mitchell, a rising senior from Charlotte, was sworn in as a WCU Board of Trustees member for 2023-2024 academic year.  

For the second consecutive year, WCU takes home 11 Hermes Creative Awards

Western Carolina University’s Communications and Marketing team has received 11 awards from the Hermes Creative Awards. The international competition is one of the oldest and largest creative competitions in the world.   

Alum Artley Porterfield finds his niche at the Titanic museum

Artley Porterfield is a storyteller from Jonesborough, Tennessee. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship from WCU and now works as a cast member at the Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.   

University Participant Program continues to move UP

The Inclusive Higher Education Accreditation Council recently announced WCU would be its first campus site visit for possible inclusive postsecondary education accreditation for the UP Program.
