For Jim Costa, biology professor since 1996 and director of Western Carolina University’s Highlands Biological Station for the past 17 years, the study of evolution has always been one of his main interests and areas of research.

A U.S. Marine Corps Officers Commissioning Ceremony took place Monday, May 15, in the conference room at WCU’s Blue Ridge Residence Hall for spring graduates Jonathan Lehe, Sydney Gallant and Caleb Hill.

Yue Hillon named Elingburg Distinguished Professor

Yue Hillon, professor of management in the College of Business, has been appointed to the university’s position of Wesley R. Elingburg Distinguished Professor of Business Innovation, effective July 1.
