Mini-Mountain Heritage Day will take place Wednesday, July 12, from 1:45-4 p.m. on the campus of Western Carolina University.

This event is designed as an introduction to mountain culture and will feature local artists demonstrating skills that have been used historically in the region. There will also be traditional musicians and displays on WCU’s history, as well as opportunities to try making certain crafts including corn shuck dolls.

Mini-Mountain Heritage Day is free and open to the public and is co-sponsored by the Mountain Heritage Center, WCU’s Office of Student Retention, Hunter Library and Dogwood Crafters of Dillsboro. The event will be held in the courtyard between the Forsyth and Killian Annex buildings. Look for the tents near the big purple chair.
