Giving Tuesday contributions increase 33 percent over last year

Contributions from 256 donors accounted for the $189,440 raised and helped boost the “Lead the Way” campaign to $55,130,785.

The performance of “Christmas Brass” on Tuesday, Dec. 18, at the Jackson County Public Library in Sylva will benefit victims of the California wildfires.

Informational workshop scheduled for provost’s grant applicants

The Office of Research Administration will accept applications from tenured faculty, tenure-track faculty and staff for the Provost’s Internal Funding Support Grant through Friday, Feb. 1.  


Mountain Heritage Center hosts exhibit on WNC during World War I

The exhibit features wartime images and artifacts, as well as examples of propaganda used to build support for the war effort, and highlights local individuals who served.  


Residential Living staff member receives statewide recognition

The North Carolina Housing Officers have chosen Lisa Surber, a housing assignments coordinator, as the recipient of its Scott Braswell Housing Function Award.  


WCU holding two fall commencement ceremonies at Ramsey Center

James Driver Blythe, a criminal justice major from Cherokee, will deliver remarks for the morning ceremony and Emma Mahala Mooney, a Dobson native and business administration and law major, will address the audience for the afternoon event.
