WCU makes adjustments to start of spring semester

Due to a record number of COVID-19 cases, strain on critical health care resources related to COVID-19 hospitalizations, and a projected peak in cases in Western North Carolina within the next two to three weeks, Western Carolina University officials have adjusted spring operations.

Sarah Carpenter is a firm believer in paying it forward, which is why she and her husband make it point to always give back to their community. So, when Carpenter recently learned she was the recipient of the Fullerton Medical Scholarship Award, the Western Carolina University nurse practitioner graduate student said it was a result of her commitment to giving.

WCU among 15 UNC System schools to receive freezers for COVID-19 vaccine storage

The UNC System is expanding COVID-19 vaccine storage capacity at all 15 research institutions. The new freezers provide safe storage of nearly 2 million 2-ml vials of COVID-19 vaccine.
