“In this one-day workshop, participants will learn about the importance of contract negotiations to manage business risks,” said Ken Sanney, workshop instructor and assistant professor of business law at WCU. “Key issues will be addressed related to working with other organizations and how to guard against risks related to fundraising, liability, finances and other potential risks.”

Participants will have an opportunity to learn about the importance of contracts in business transactions, including the basics of contract law, how to identify the three major types of risk, how to choose and apply one of the four risk mitigation measures to protect a business and negotiating strategies to create competitive advantage.

Participants can apply the workshop as credit toward obtaining their event planning certificate.
