Business students complete capstone project for military resort

In the spring of 2022, Charlie Parrish, director of the School of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Sport Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, met with Lee Schmudde, outgoing chair of the Hospitality and Tourism Management board, and AJ Grube, the College of Business dean, to discuss the possibility of a capstone project with the military-affiliated Shades of Green Resort in Orlando.

Western Piedmont CC students will have guaranteed admission to WCU

Chancellor Kelli R. Brown and Joel D. Welch, president of Western Piedmont Community College, signed a memorandum of understanding between the two institutions that guarantees admission to WCU for all Western Piedmont graduates who satisfy certain requirements.

Student receives nationally competitive scholarship to study abroad

Lanasia Pleasants was chosen as the 2023 recipient of the National Security Education Program David L. Boren Scholarship and is only the third WCU student to receive the award.
