WCU Board of Trustees to meet Dec. 3-4

The Board of Trustees of Western Carolina University will hold its quarterly meeting at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, on center stage in the performance hall of the John W. Bardo Fine and Performing Arts Center.

The trustees, who typically meet in the board room of H.F. Robinson Administration Building, have moved the December 2020 quarterly meeting to the Fine and Performing Arts Center to comply with physical distancing protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The board also will hold committee meetings and discussions beginning at 12:35 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, in various locations in the Bardo Arts Center. The day’s sessions will include a presentation by Jennifer Schiff, associate professor of political science and public affairs, who is WCU’s recipient of the 2020 University of North Carolina Board of Governors Awards for Excellence in Teaching.

Schiff was originally scheduled to officially receive the UNC System teaching award and deliver an address as part of spring commencement activities in May, but those events were postponed because of the pandemic.

The meetings will be streamed live over WCU’s YouTube channel.
