Kit Cramer, Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce president and CEO, will serve as keynote speaker for a High Impact Leadership Certificate Program being offered at Western Carolina University’s instructional site at Biltmore Park in Asheville.
The program, which is facilitated by WCU’s Office of Professional Growth and Enrichment, will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Oct. 28-31, and from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1.
Cramer will deliver her keynote talk Nov. 1 at 1:15 p.m.
“I am delighted to serve as keynote speaker for WCU’s leadership program,” Cramer said. “Being in a leadership role requires building a dynamic team, understanding different working styles, effective communication and handling yourself in a variety of situations all while remaining professional.”
This five-day leadership certificate program is designed for individuals who want to take their careers to the next level to become a high impact leader.
Participants have an opportunity to discover their own leadership styles by completing a DiSC personality assessment tool and also learn how to improve communication and the group dynamic within their teams by learning to adapt to the behavioral differences of others.
“A great deal of thought went into the creation of this program, including identifying contemporary leadership topics and four expert workshop leaders who all provide interactive and experiential learning opportunities,” said Jill Thompson, WCU’s associate director of professional development. “We are also delighted that Kit Cramer will be conducting the keynote talk as the final presentation to a full week of leadership development training.”
Workshop leaders include Susan Fouts, WCU executive director of educational outreach; Jon Yarbrough, attorney at Constangy, Brooks, Smith & Prophete; Betty Farmer, WCU professor of communication; and Ken Sanney, WCU associate professor of business law.
The program registration fee is $849. Nonprofit registration is $649.
