For WCU employees, beginning on Friday, January 10, at 8:00 a.m., University operations will be operating under Condition Level 2—Suspended Operations. This includes employees at the Cullowhee main campus and the Biltmore instructional site.
Students traveling back to the Cullowhee campus are strongly recommended to avoid traveling on Friday or Saturday out of an abundance of caution.

School of Music recitals, performances scheduled for campus

Western Carolina University’s School of Music will hold a series of recitals and musical performances on campus throughout September, with all events free and open to the public.

All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and take place in the recital hall of the Coulter Building, unless otherwise noted:

  • Guest recital by Doug Lindsey, professor of trumpet at Kennesaw State University, Monday, Sept. 9
  • School of Music faculty showcase, Tuesday, Sept. 10
  • Guest recital by Wojtek Komsta on clarinet, Tuesday, Sept. 17. Komsta performs a program of classical and Latin American music featuring the clarinet. He will be joined by WCU faculty musicians Lillian Buss Pearson, piano; Shannon Thompson, clarinet; and Will Peebles, bassoon
  • Guest artist Mark Tonelli on jazz guitar, Monday, Sept. 23
  • Student recital Wednesday, Sept. 25, 1:25 p.m.
  • Horn Studio, Thursday, Sept 26
