Dear WCU Campus Community:
We successfully concluded one of the most difficult semesters in our university’s history this fall and I want to express my deep gratitude to the work of all our faculty, staff and students for your perseverance, determination, and resilience.
We have all worked harder than ever amid the challenging circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic to achieve our goals and make a positive difference in the world.
Based on what we observed during last semester, I know the continued efforts of the Catamounts Care campaign will be a vital part of our strategy to slow the spread of COVID-19 and allow us to maintain residential operations this semester. That said, I expect this semester will bring additional challenges and opportunities for our university. Holding to our Catamounts Care standards give our campus community the best chance for a successful Spring term.
I urge all of us to remain vigilant against COVID-19 so that we may start the spring semester on the right foot: follow the Catamounts Care community standards, use community testing sites and the vaccine sites as they become available, and maintain a period of quarantine where appropriate. As we look ahead to the spring semester, please allow me to share a few items of importance with you available on our COVID-19 updates website.
Thank you, as always, for your service and contributions to our great university and may 2021 bring renewed hope and health to our region, nation, and world.
Sincerely,
Kelli R. Brown
Chancellor
