A Message from Chancellor Brown

In regards to the events at the U.S. Capitol

Like many of you, I was deeply troubled by the violent takeover of the U.S. Capitol and attempts to disrupt one of the most important tenets of our democracy, the peaceful transition of power. The actions today were simply unacceptable, and violence must always be condemned.

In times such as these, I remind myself of the values we embrace as Catamounts, two of which are unity and the encouragement of respectful civil discourse. Today’s events may impact many of you in different ways. Now, more than ever before, is a time for all of us to come together, offer support, and treat each other with dignity and respect.
