Dear WCU Campus Community: We successfully concluded one of the most difficult semesters in our university’s history this fall and I want to express my deep gratitude to the work of all our faculty, staff and students for your perseverance, determination, and resilience.

A message to faculty and staff expressing appreciation for doing what was needed for a successful fall semester and a reminder to stay safe and well over the holiday break. Be sure to check your campus mailbox in the coming days for a special gift commemorating the holiday season.
Due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in the state and region, I have made the difficult decision to cancel the modified in-person commencement ceremonies scheduled for Dec. 10-13 and shift to a series of virtual ceremonies.
It has been a challenging semester but we have accomplished a great deal and have much for which to be thankful. We hope you all enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday, safely, with family and friends.
Today on Veterans Day we take a moment to say thank you for your service. We are thankful for your service and proud to have students, alumni, faculty, and staff who are veterans and active duty service members in our ranks.
As we enter the final days before Election Day, bringing an end to one of the most turbulent political seasons in recent history, it is important to pause, take a breath, and remember to live the values we all embrace as Catamounts.
