Armani Blair has run track for as long as she can remember. She inherited the passion of running from her mother, Jamicka Abraham, who also ran track. But Blair, a junior from Charlotte and a member of Western Carolina University’s women’s track and field team, will be the first to tell you she’s not your average track athlete. Track is not at the forefront of her life. For Blair, a double major in political science and sociology, it’s grades first.

Last September, English Studies professor Brent Kinser was recognized for more than 20 years of editorial work when Duke University Press held a celebration for the publication of the 50th and final volume of “The Collected Letters of Thomas and Jane Welsh Carlyle.”

WCU opens new passport facility, awards 25 free passports for students to study abroad

WCU has been selected by the Institute of International Education to receive an IIE American Passport Project grant that will enable 25 students to obtain a U.S. passport to support their study abroad journeys.
