The fall issue of WCU Magazine is scheduled to arrive in mailboxes of Western Carolina University alumni, donors and friends this week.

The latest issue of WCU’s award-winning magazine features a cover story showing how the College of Engineering and Technology has become a driving force in Western North Carolina. Other features include alumna Danita Johnson, who is the first Black Major League Soccer president and only the third woman to hold the position; students in the Geosciences and Natural Resources are getting hands-on experience collecting unique hair samples from small mammals of the Southeast; and a closer look at the new comprehensive campaign – Fill The Western Sky.

In athletics, the women’s golf team had a historic 2022-23 season, the men’s and women’s basketball teams received renovated locker rooms and members of the 1983 football team reminisced about their run to the NCAA I-AA national championship game.

Those are just some of the interesting features inside our latest issue. You can also check out extra features, such as videos and more photographs, online at magazine.wcu.edu.

Students, faculty and staff can pick up a copy in H.F. Robinson Administration Building, Hinds University Center, the Campus Dining Hall and Brown Hall.
