Mary Jane Moran is Professor and Interim Head in the Department of Child and Family Studies at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville. She conducts research on the impact of situated professional development and visual literacies on teacher inquiry. She teaches courses in contemporary issues in education, early childhood education, and applied research methods. She has utilized the Project Approach as an approach for educating early childhood teachers for 20 years as it provides a rich context for both children and teachers to develop new knowledge through meaningful learning experiences.
