Optimizing Interprofessional Education in Health Care

Morgan Pillsbury, a current Doctor of Physical Therapy student, was selected by popular vote for the People’s Choice Award in the 2020 Three Minute Thesis Competition, hosted by the WCU's Graduate School.

Pillsbury’s presentation on “Optimizing Interprofessional Education in Health Care Professions” highlights the importance of an educational session’s impact on interprofessional learning between Doctor of Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Assistant students in Western NC.

The goal of this study is to improve knowledge and respect of each role in the Physical Therapy field, increase teamwork in the clinic, and ultimately improve patient outcomes.

Her presentation captured the audience’s attention and vote through her engaging presentation and clear passion for the topic of study. Pillsbury received a $250 tuition award for the Spring 2021 semester and $250 cash.
