COVID-19 dashboard updates resume Jan. 11 with additional information

Western Carolina University’s COVID-19 dashboard will resume its weekday updates, beginning today (Monday, Jan. 11).

The dashboard has been revised to include additional information. By default, the dashboard shows spring data (collected starting Jan. 1). Dashboard users also can view fall/winter data, in addition to spring, using the filters at the top of the dashboard.

The default shows data for all populations, but users can see additional information about employee and student populations by using the filters provided. If the user selects the employee view, they will see additional details about positive cases in faculty and staff categories.

This view also shows more details on testing data, with a split of athletic and other surveillance testing, as well as symptomatic testing. Similarly, the student view shows additional details about positive student cases (i.e., how many were in residential living, Greek housing, and off-campus housing), and the additional details on student testing categories.

A new element of the dashboard shows cumulative cases, and of those, how many are currently active. This addition can be viewed for the entire campus, or for employee or student groups specifically.

Finally, the dashboard includes a link to the state’s COVID-19 dashboard, where users can find detailed information for Jackson County and other areas of North Carolina.

The dashboard can be found at info.wcu.edu/covidreporting.
