CEAP Alumna Maggie Allen Named ACS Beginning Teacher of the Year

CEAP alumna Maggie Allen, '22, currently a 1st-grade teacher at Hall Fletcher Elementary School, has earned the prestigious title of Asheville City Schools Beginning Teacher of the Year. A proud graduate of Western Carolina University, Maggie holds licenses in elementary, inclusive, and special education. 

The recognition as the Asheville City Schools Beginning Teacher of the Year is part of the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) program, which aims to celebrate and retain promising new educators who exhibit exceptional leadership in education.

As the Asheville City Schools' chosen finalist, she will be submitting her application to NCCAT, where a selection of candidates will then vie for the coveted title of 2023 North Carolina Beginning Teacher of the Year.

Maggie Allen's unwavering dedication to teaching, coupled with her commitment to creating an inclusive and equitable learning environment, has left an indelible mark on the students of Hall Fletcher Elementary School. As she continues her educational journey, her passion and enthusiasm are certain to inspire countless more students in the years ahead.
