Ms. Himes was born and raised in North Carolina and hasn't found a place she would rather call home yet. She attended UNC-Asheville for her undergraduate degree and WCU for her graduate degree, both in biology. She has taught at WCU for 21 wonderful years and currently teaches Environmental Biology (BIOL 103), Plants and Society (BIOL 192) and Ecology and Evolution labs (BIOL 241). Her passions are plants, gardening and natural resource conservation and she is an active member of several local conservation organizations.
