Biography

Dr. Santiago García-Castañón is a native of Avilés (Asturias, Spain). He received his undergraduate degree in Anglo-Germanic Philology from the University of Oviedo and his Master’s and PhD in Spanish Literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana. He has taught at various universities in the US and Spain and is currently Professor of Spanish at WCU. He is an avid opera listener and fountain pen collector. In addition to his academic responsibilities he is an award-winning poet and a novelist.
