Biography
Dr. Melodie H. Frick is a Professor of the Counseling Program. Originally from Asheville,
she earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro,
master's degree in Community Counseling from Western Carolina University, and Ph.D.
in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Virginia. Dr. Frick
is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor, National Certified Counselor,
and Approved Clinical Supervisor, and has worked in outpatient mental health agencies,
private practice, and counselor education. Her professional memberships include the
American Counseling Association, Association for Counselor Education and Supervision,
Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, and the North Carolina
Counseling Association. Her research interests include relationship issues (e.g.,
couple’s, familial, consensual nonmonogamy, etc.), women’s issues, sexuality, and
counseling and supervision praxis.
