Dr. Gangel received her BA from Hamilton College where she majored in Psychology and has a minor in Political Science. She then went on to receive her MS from Villanova University in Experimental Psychology. Dr. Gangel finished her education receiving her PhD in Developmental Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Research Interests

Dr. Gangel studies the changes in health that occur over childhood into adolescence and emerging adulthood. And how our physiology is shaped by peer and parent relationships. She is currently interested in examining the effects of the stigmatization of obesity on adolescent and emerging adult health.
