Biography

I completed my B.S. at the University of Texas at Austin in 2013 and ​earned my PhD at ​North Carolina State University in 2019. I ​held ​positions as a postdoctoral scholar at Florida State University and Clemson University from 2019-2023, and ​joined the ​WCU ​Biology Faculty as an assistant professor in 2023.

Teaching Interests

I enjoy teaching courses related to ecology and evolution and plant biology. I combine lecture, ​hands-on, discussion, and writing-based modalities. <br><br>Courses that I currently teach include:<br><b>General Ecology</b> (BIOL 304)<br><b>Methods in Ecology and Evolution</b> (BIOL 375 and 675)<br><b>Species Interactions</b> (BIOL 493)

Research Interests

I am interested in the evolution of floral traits and reproductive strategies among animal-pollinated plants.
