Originally from Cullowhee NC, I have spent much of my adult life teaching middle school math in Buncombe County. I joined the WCU faculty after earning a PhD in Mathematics Education at the University of Virginia. My role is primarily to work with middle grades teaching candidates and additionally work as the math 1 teacher and instructional support liaison for The Catamount School, our laboratory school that serves grades 6, 7, and 8.
