Biography

Assistant Professor of Practice. Dr. Collins completed her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and has worked in private practice and community mental health settings since 2017. Dr. Collins earned her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. Dr. Collin’s research interests are focused on self-compassion, intolerance of uncertainty, attachment, and trauma. Her counseling expertise is in treating individuals recovering from trauma. Dr. Collins is committed to making the path level for all people and works to fulfill this commitment by training counselors to be effective, ethical, and culturally humble practitioners who see themselves as active change agents in the communities they serve.
