2024 Cherokee Language Summit Agenda

Where: Western Carolina University (Cullowhee, NC)

Western Carolina University’s Cherokee Language Summit has been hosted annually since 2017 excluding a two-year hiatus during the Covid-19 pandemic. The 5th Cherokee Language Summit brings together Cherokee language instructors and students from several universities and tribal programs to share strategies for teaching and learning the language. Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit important Cherokee cultural sites, screen film, attend a spring social and network and learn from their peers. Rustic hostel-style lodging is provided free of charge for up to 40 attendees. Shuttles will be available for those with local transportation needs.

Registration is free for members of state or federally recognized tribes or employees of tribal programs. Registration is also free for students and employees of colleges and universities. (See Tribal Member/Educator/Student Option. A 100% off discount will automatically be added at checkout.)

Unaffiliated attendees should pay the $100 registration fee. (See General Registration Option)
