Summer Financial Aid

 

You must submit a 2023-2024 FAFSA in order to be considered for summer financial aid. If you already have a 2023-2024  FAFSA on file, we will use your existing application. For financial aid purposes, summer sessions are considered 'trailers' – the last term of the academic year. This means that the financial aid you received in the Fall and Spring semesters of the academic year may influence your eligibility for summer aid.

For example, if you used all of your federal student loan eligibility in the fall and spring semesters, you will not have a federal loan offer available for summer. If you do not have remaining federal student loan eligibility to use for summer, your parent can apply for a Parent PLUS Loan. Or you can pursue a private student loan. 

Eligibility

Based on the length of your courses, you must enroll in at least six hours (half-time) as an undergraduate student or at least five hours (half-time) as a graduate or doctoral student to receive federal financial aid for summer. Aid offers will be reviewed for eligibility based on number of hours enrolled.

Your summer aid offer could change if your enrollment status changes. Dropping hours before or after the start of the summer session may result in repayment of financial aid, including funds already disbursed to you.
