Mr. A. Hitchcock in a letter dated Dec. 17, 1831 says:

Several of the boys are evidently under the teachings of the Holy Spirit, though we have no reason to think that they have been born again. We feel that we have reason for unfeigned thanksgiving to God for what he has done for us within a few months past and we feel that the Spirit has not departed from us.- There is still as interesting engagedness on the part of Christians in prayer and labors for the conversion of sinners, and an evident moving of their souls. We crave the prayers of all who desire the salvation of the Cherokees, that God would carry on his own work in his own way, and accomplish a complete deliverance for this people.
