Western Carolina University is home to many students, alumni and friends, and it's looking to add more folks to the Catamount family.
WCU is hosting its November open house event Saturday, Nov. 23 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is filled with numerous opportunities for prospective students to discover what life is like in Cullowhee.
Guests can meet with faculty and staff during the morning information fair, tour campus, see the residence halls, meet with current students and more.
For the open house, prospective students who register and attend will receive a WCU open house t-shirt, a $50 travel card to help offset expenses, a $50 WCU bookstore coupon to use that day and a student meal voucher to use that day at participating campus dining locations.\
As Western North Carolina continues to recover from Hurricane Helene, WCU understands and is available to field questions on concerns guests may have about conditions and travel.
Campus is open and fully operational after classes resumed on Oct. 21.
Visitors are encouraged to check road conditions prior to their visit to Cullowhee, as some routes, particularly those from Tennessee, have extended closures.
WCU also urges guests to confirm any hotel reservations made as some accommodations are currently serving as FEMA sites. WCU recommends looking into resources in Cullowhee, Sylva, Cherokee, Franklin and Waynesville for availability.
Admissions at WCU is ready to assist with any questions or adjustments you may need for your visit. Admissions can be reached at admiss@wcu.edu or (828) 227-7317.
