The Sylva-based Smoky Mountain Brass Quintet will perform seasonal music in a benefit performance on Friday, Dec. 6, at Innovation Station in Dillsboro.
There is no admission charge for the 7 p.m. performance, which will feature holiday favorites. Contributions will be accepted to support Sylva American Legion Post 104, a military veterans service organization dedicated to community, veterans’ assistance, youth programs and promoting local patriotic events. All funds raised by the event will go to support local youth programs.
The quintet is made up of faculty from Western Carolina University’s School of Music. Founded in 1993, the group has performed nationally and internationally, with a wide repertoire that includes pop, jazz, patriotic and standards, as well as commissioned works.
