Latinx Heritage Month includes talk on 'Education Without Borders'

As part of Western Carolina University’s celebration of Latinx Heritage Month, the campus will host Lamberto Roque Hernandez, a writer, artist and educator from Oakland, California, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, in the A.K. Hinds University Center theater.

Hernandez will give a talk on “Education Without Borders.” The event will be hosted by the Arts and Cultural Events series and the Josefina Niggli Latinx Speaker Series.

Hernandez also has spent the week meeting with students in the new U.S. Latinx Studies minor, the Latinx Learning Community and Spanish conversation classes, as well as helping design a mural in a murals class.
