Philosophy and Religion Department’s Hale presenting public talks

Daryl Hale, associate professor in Western Carolina University’s Department of Philosophy and Religion, is presenting a series of public talks on the topic “New Atheism, Science and Faith in a Secular Age” at the Jackson County Public Library.

Upcoming talks, exploring questions of religious belief and secularism in contemporary life, are scheduled for 6 p.m. on both Tuesday, Oct. 8, and Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the library in Sylva.

The free series was organized by the library staff and the Friends of the Jackson County Public Library organization. The first talk was presented by Hale on Oct. 1.
