CareZone, a program for understanding mental health issues, offered on campus

CareZone, a free program that provides instruction in understanding mental illness in day-to-day life, will be offered from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the Cardinal Room of Western Carolina University’s A.K. Hinds University Center.

Participants will have an opportunity to develop a basic understanding of the disorders recognized in the fifth edition of the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and to learn to be effective allies of people with mental illness.

The program is open to WCU faculty and staff, and is a DegreePlus event for students. To register, contact Jessica Zellers at jhzellers@wcu.edu or 828-227-3801.
