Western Carolina University’s Office of Professional Growth and Enrichment is partnering with Condensed Curriculum International to offer a Pharmacy Technician Program with Clinical Externship from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, Oct. 8 through Nov. 26, in Room 143 of the Cordelia Camp Building on WCU’s Cullowhee campus.

“This comprehensive 50-hour program will prepare students to work as a pharmacy technician in a retail or other pharmacy setting,” said Bobby Hensley, WCU’s associate director of continuing education. “This course will also prepare students to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s PTCP exam.”

Course content includes pharmacy medical terminology, the history of pharmacy, pharmacy practice in multiple environments, pharmacy calculations and measurements, reading and interpreting prescriptions, and defining drugs by generic and brand names.

The registration fee for the course is $1,099, with all materials included. For more information and to register, visit go.wcu.edu/pharm-tech or call 828-227-7397.
