Over the course of the program, participants will have an opportunity to create an online marketing communications strategy and digital toolbox by completing six full-day workshops taught by expert marketing and public relations professionals.

The program has been enhanced by the addition of two workshops taught by Scott Rader, associate professor in WCU’s College of Business. Rader will lead workshops in “Social Media Listening” and “Introduction to Content Design.”
In addition to Belleme and Rader, other workshop instructors for the certificate program include Sarah Benoit of JB Media Group; Betty Farmer, WCU professor of communication and owner of Farmer Communications; and Pat Gallo, accomplished visual storyteller and videographer.
Participants will have a chance to learn the new rules of marketing and public relations and to explore the advantages of digital communications, gaining new insights into public relations and marketing strategy, branding, budgeting, online content creation, video creation and use, social media and how to effectively track marketing and public relations results.
A certificate will be awarded upon completion of all six workshops are completed. Workshops will be offered again in the spring for those who cannot attend all of the fall semester workshops.
