Workshop series on planned giving for nonprofits set in Asheville

Western Carolina University’s Office of Professional Growth and Enrichment is offering a two-day workshop series on planned giving for nonprofits, “Ignite Your Planned Giving with a Program that Works,” on two Thursdays, Aug. 1 and 8, at WCU’s instructional site at Biltmore Park in Asheville.

Alex Comfort

Alex Comfort, a certified fundraising executive with more than 32 years of experience in planned giving, will serve as workshop instructor.

“Planned giving is essential to the success of nonprofits,” Comfort said. “There are lots of roadblocks nonprofits face when trying to create an effective program. We will eliminate all of them.”

The workshops will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day, with one week in between to allow for homework and to recruit volunteer leaders.

The registration fee is $225, with lunch included.
