Volunteers needed to assist on freshman move-in day Aug. 16

Western Carolina University freshman move-in day is rapidly approaching, and the Office of Residential Living is looking for volunteers for its Welcome Team.

Move-in will begin at 7 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, and the goal is to have all students in their rooms by 4 p.m. so that first-year students can attend the New Student Convocation, which begins at 5:30 p.m. at Ramsey Regional Activity Center.

Faculty and staff members are needed to help move students’ belongings from a vehicle to the curb, or from the curb to their room. Volunteers are asked to commit to a two-hour block if possible. Volunteers will be provided with water and Pepsi products, as well as snacks and a Welcome Team T-shirt.

Those looking to volunteer are encouraged to check with their supervisor for approval. To register, click on the following link:
