June 5 marked the first day of registration for the “WHEE for Life” Summer Bingo Challenge, an activity that is typically very popular among Western Carolina University employees.
Led by WCU’s employee wellness team, the event encourages faculty and staff to participate in various wellness activities throughout the summer. Registration continues throughout the month.
The challenge incorporates a bingo-type card, and as participants accomplish a wellness activity, they mark off a square. Those who complete two “bingos” from the challenge card by Friday, July 26, will win a T-shirt. Those completing all activities win an additional prize.
Activities include watching a sunrise or sunset, going on a picnic and giving a stranger a high-five, just to name a few. The challenge continues until July 26, when there will be a small celebration (details to be announced by email at a later date).
