Six Sigma yellow belt training to be offered at Biltmore Park site

Western Carolina University’s Office of Professional Growth and Enrichment is offering Six Sigma yellow belt training Tuesday, April 23, through Friday, April 26, at WCU’s instructional site at Biltmore Park in Asheville.

The workshops will run 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

Todd Creasy, associate professor in WCU’s College of Business and Juran Institute certified master black belt in Six Sigma, will serve as instructor. “This program is designed to offer ideas and tools for immediate use at your workplace,” Creasy said. “Six Sigma participants will learn what makes companies like Amazon, General Electric, Bank of America, Boeing and 3M the best in their field.”

Participants will earn a yellow belt and learn how to apply the five-step methodology of Six Sigma in product, process or service industries. Other topics include team dynamics in Six Sigma projects, tenets of effective project charters, valid measuring systems, improvement methodologies and designs, sustainability of improvements and improved-process control techniques.

The registration fee is $899.
