REPRESENTING THE ‘WHEE’ IN EAST NC

Five members of the Catamount family are currently working at College of The Albemarle in Elizabeth City, representing Western Carolina University in the opposite corner of the state. From left are John Wilson ’15, coordinator of the college’s Emergency Medical Services Program; Chris Robertson ’02, director of admission and advisement for Health Sciences and Wellness Programs who also is a simulation instructor and a former nursing member; Walter Meads ’14, instructor in the Emergency Medical Services Program; Mike Whitehurst ’09 ’12, coordinator of the American Heart Association Training Center on the college’s campus and formerly a clinical instructor in the Nursing Program; and Jeff Carter MAEd ’96, associate professor of health and fitness science and physical education, and chair of the Department of Allied Health. “Over the years, several College of The Albemarle students have transferred to WCU after completing their associate’s degrees here and have been very successful there,” said Carter, who formerly served as director of athletics and intramurals coordinator.
