School of Nursing's Kossick lectures at international conference

Mark A. Kossick, WCU professor of nursing and director of graduate programs at the university’s Biltmore Park instructional site, was the featured speaker at an international conference held in Las Vegas on Dec. 10. Kossick’s eight hours of lecture included “Cardinal Concepts for Accurate EKG Interpretation,” “Evidence Based Guidelines for Diagnosing T Wave and ST Segment Changes,” “Decision Algorithm for EKG Lead Selection Including True Chest Leads versus Modified Chest Leads,” “Diagnostic Criteria for Myocardial Infarction,” “Current Treatment Strategies and EKG Lead Selection for Atrial Fibrillation” and “Practice EKG Interpretation.” Seminar attendees included various physician and advanced practice nurse specialists with some participants attending from Belgium, Australia, West Indies, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and from numerous states across the U.S. The meeting was sponsored by A. Webb Roberts Center for Continuing Medical Education of Baylor Health Care System in Dallas, Texas, and Northwest Anesthesia Seminars in Pasco, Washington.
