‘Five-star' customer service to be focus of workshop in Asheville

Providing the highest level of customer service and attracting and maintaining customers will be the focus of “Five-Star Customer Service for the Hospitality Industry,” a workshop set for 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at Western Carolina University’s instructional site at Biltmore Park in Asheville.

The workshop, which is geared towards the hospitality industry, is being offered by WCU’s Office of Professional Growth and Enrichment.

“Entertainment, dining and tourism businesses want and depend on current customer referrals,” said Susan Fouts, workshop instructor and executive director of the Division of Educational Outreach at WCU. “Exceptional customer service creates new referrals and repeat customers.”

Participants will learn about the eight commandments of customer care and the basis for exceptional customer service at the five-star level.

The registration fee for the workshop is $119. This workshop also can be taken as part of the Event Planning Certificate Program.
