‘Art Day for Kids’ offered on Jan. 21 Martin Luther King Jr. holiday

Western Carolina University’s Office of Professional Growth and Enrichment is offering an “Art Day for Kids” program while they are out of school for the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.

The program will be held 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 21, in Room 150 of WCU’s John W. Bardo Fine and Performing Arts Center. The title of the art class is “MLK Art Day” and the theme is “People Helping People.”

The children will work on projects that include figurative clay sculptures, portraiture in oil pastel and a large pillow-based installation project.

Registration cost is $25. Lunch is included and will be offered in the Courtyard Dining Hall.

Classes are subject to minimum enrollments and the Jackson County Schools calendar.
