Salido chosen to participate in Leadership North Carolina

Arthur Salido, WCU’s executive director of community and economic engagement and innovation, is among 56 civic and community leaders chosen to participate in the 2018-19 class of Leadership North Carolina, the state’s premier leadership engagement program.

Over the course of six two-and-a-half day sessions, participants learn about issues critical to the state through discussions with top officials and professionals, field trips and experiential learning activities. The meetings focus on five key areas: economic development, education, environment, government, and health and human services.

The group meets at locations throughout the state, and members gathered recently in Boone for an orientation session. Upcoming meetings will be held in Raleigh, Greensboro, Charlotte, Wilmington and Asheville.
