Employee Appreciation Day set for Sept. 6 at Ramsey Center

WCU Board of Trustees member Kenny Messer, a 1986 alumnus of the university, visits with employees during the 2017 Employee Appreciation Day.

The annual Employee Appreciation Day for Western Carolina University faculty and staff members will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, in Ramsey Regional Activity Center.

Employees will be treated to a free lunch and an Employee Appreciation Day gift. There also will be a benefits/vendor fair on the concourse with 44 vendors and giveaways. Added this year will be a WCU Works celebration, and in addition to vendor door prizes, there will be others prizes from various WCU departments.

The Staff Senate will have a photo booth for employees to take pictures with friends and colleagues. PAWS also will join in on the fun this year.

This year’s lunch menu is predominantly gluten-free with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. The menu consists of a garden salad, potato salad, country coleslaw, southern peach salad, macaroni and cheese (gluten-free penne and cheese), sweet potato casserole, roasted vegetable medley, green beans, pulled pork barbecue (tomato base and vinegar base), grilled chicken, grilled Portobello mushrooms, assorted dessert bars, mini key lime pies, red velvet cake, cranberry lemonade, sweet and unsweet tea and water.
