Spring semester enrollment crests 11,000 for first time; graduate, transfer numbers up

The fall-to-spring retention rate – that is, the rate at which first-time full-time freshmen return to the university for the spring semester – continued to hold steady at better than 91 percent.

WCU sees growth in graduate programs

Western Carolina University’s Graduate School saw an 18.2 percent increase in enrollment of new graduate students this spring, largely driven by programs preparing students for career growth in high-demand fields. Overall Graduate School enrollment climbed 3.7 percent.

Finalists for health and human sciences dean’s position to visit

WCU is conducting a national search to fill the dean’s position currently held by Douglas Keskula, who announced in April 2018 his intention to return to a faculty position.
