Western Carolina University conferred degrees on 801 students who completed their studies during the fall sessions of 2019.
A total of 324 undergraduate students received academic honors, with 98 graduating summa cum laude (with highest honors), 123 graduating magna cum laude (with high honors) and 103 graduating cum laude (with honors).

A total of 3,335 students have been named to the Western Carolina University dean’s list for fall 2019, and 1,828 of those students achieved an additional academic honor by being named to the chancellor’s list for fall.
To qualify for the dean’s list, students must achieve at least a 3.5 grade-point average out of a possible 4.0 on a regular semester’s work of not less than 12 hours, excluding remedial courses, with no grade of D+, D, D-, F or I. Students named to the chancellor’s list met those specifications while also achieving a grade-point average of 3.8 or higher.
